Mr. Jacobs is the founder and President of Jacobs & Company, which he formed in 1988 and was registered with the SEC under the Investment Advisers Act. In 2001, he was responsible for the launch of the Jacobs & Company Mutual Fund. Jacobs & Company is the investment adviser to the Fund, and Mr. Jacobs is the principal portfolio manager.
Mr. Jacobs appears regularly on Bloomberg TV and Radio and is frequently quoted by business reporters on the Dow Jones Newswire and Reuters. His interviews have also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and other business publications.
Since 2001, Mr. Jacobs has also served as Chairman and President of Jacobs Financial Group, Inc. a West Virginia based holding company for Jacobs and Company and two other synergistic business units FS Investments, Inc., an insurance consulting business which has developed insurance strategies for surety bonds marketed through its subsidiary, Triangle Surety Agency, Inc., and the recently acquired First Surety Corporation, which specializes in underwriting surety bonds for regulated industries. Prior to forming Jacobs & Company in 1988, Mr. Jacobs was a practicing public accountant for over thirteen years and managing partner of his accounting firm.
Mr. Jacobs is a graduate of West Virginia University and a Certified Public Accountant.
